Songwriting credits are a top priority for today’s working artists. They stake an artist’s claim to their creative contribution, develop an artist’s profile among industry peers, and secure a cut of a song’s royalties as compensation for that work.
Since 2018, Spotify has committed to recognizing songwriters with credits that are publicly displayed on a song’s information page within their platform. In response to the popularity of this effort, Spotify has launched songwriter pages that will further highlight the behind-the-scenes work of so many creatives.

Now, when an artist credits a songwriter for a particular track, their name will be linked to a separate page with the songwriter’s entire discography. As a songwriter, you’ll be able to display the tracks you’ve written or co-written, alongside a list of your most frequent collaborators. For curious listeners, Spotify has also created “Written By” playlists that gather every song written by a particular songwriter into one easy and accessible place.
While this feature is still limited to beta, interested songwriters can reach out to Spotify here to request their own page.

If you’re a Level Premium user, utilizing this feature is as simple as adding Production Credits to each of your tracks. To properly credit a songwriter on Spotify, enter their name in the Lyricist and/or Composer sections of your release; this metadata will correspond to Spotify’s “Written By” field.
